Bulletproof Brewhouse Review (Brevada Brewhouse)

A hip new coffee place by campus

Bulletproof Brewhouse (now Brevada Brewhouse) is a new coffee shop that moved into the old Matteo’s location over the summer. The brewhouse is located off Eldorado Avenue behind Abby’s Pizza, less than a mile from campus.

Bulletproof Brewhouse is amazing, and I will be happy to list the reasons. First, it is owned by three Oregon Tech students, Madison McCuiston, David Murphy and Seth Gretz.

Second, the unique metal logo on the building, occasional directional signs hand-made from pallets, leather couches, and wood tables the owners made themselves create a trendy-chic vibe that invites people in to have fun or study.

Third and favorite, this coffee house features a drive through, and I am all about convenience. Their wait times are under ten minutes, their prices are average, and their products are delicious.

I have tried several of their items on multiple occasions, including their biscotti, chocolate chip cookies, strawberry banana smoothie bowls, mochas, and breves.

Their biscotti (an Italian almond “biscuit”) are heavenly. They are softer than the ones you usually buy at a store and had a flavor that was not too sweet. The chocolate complemented the biscuit nicely. Their chocolate chip cookies are not too sweet as well, which I appreciate.

My favorite item to order is the strawberry banana smoothie bowl. This bowl has the obvious fruits mentioned blended to a smoothie texture and comes with your choice of granola. The bowl is topped with diced strawberries and bananas, which, for a price of $6, is a convenient buy close to the school that also hits all of the marks.

Their coffee is to die for as well; I usually get a breve, which is an espresso drink using steamed half-and-half mixture of milk and cream. Their mochas are of a decadent chocolate and creamy taste which is a nice treat to start the day off or give you a kick to help with your studying.

Bulletproof Brewhouse are most certainly driven by consumer capital, meaning they strive to have a positive relationship with their consumers. They offer a stamp card and specials like buying a smoothie bowl and coffee to get a full stamp card. They also care about what their customers want; they recently posted a survey about what customers expect to see in a wine bar because they are planning to add one to their shop.

I think this new coffee shop is a great addition to the town as well as our college experience. The quality products, atmosphere, and the owner's and employee's personalities make Bulletproof Brewhouse a must visit.

Keep on keepin’ on, Brevada Brewhouse!
